Who We Are

A Christian and community-based peer-led non-profit organisation creating a mentally healthy and trauma-informed society.

Our Identity

Who We Are

Free Mind Hive is a Christian and community-based peer-led non-profit organisation that exists to create a society where mental health and trauma are understood, addressed, and healed. We recognise the pervasive impact of mental health challenges and trauma on individuals, families, and communities, particularly among children, youth, and their families.

Many people suffer in silence due to stigma, lack of awareness, inadequate support, and limited access to resources. These barriers prevent individuals from seeking the help they need, perpetuating cycles of trauma and mental illness. Free Mind Hive aims to break these cycles by fostering a trauma-informed and mentally healthy society.

As a faith-based organisation, we believe in the power of God's love and grace to bring healing and transformation. Our peer-led approach ensures that those we serve are empowered to lead their own healing journeys, supported by a compassionate community that understands their experiences.

Our Mission

To create a mentally healthy and trauma-informed society by providing accessible, holistic, Christ-centred support to children, youth, and families affected by trauma.

Our Vision

A society where mental health and trauma are understood, addressed, and healed — where every individual feels seen, heard, and empowered to grow.

Our Story

Our History

Our founders
Free Mind Hive was established by Sarah Tushemereirwe Twine and her mother, Monday Edigold, drawing from their deeply personal experiences with mental health. Sarah, a mental health advocate and motivational speaker, began her journey with mental health challenges at a young age — diagnosed with a mental disorder at 12 and starting medication at 14. Her experiences with self-harm and suicidal tendencies shaped a profound understanding of trauma and the importance of trauma-informed care. Inspired by her resilience and the support of her family, FMH was founded to create safe, supportive, and empathetic environments for individuals navigating trauma and mental health challenges.
